Queridos compañeros y queridas compañeras del Partido Comunista de Uruguay,
Desde el Partido de la Izquierda Europea (PIE) recibid un cariñoso y solidario saludo en estos tiempos tan complejos que el mundo está pasando.
Sabemos que el próximo 21 de septiembre de 2020 vuestro Partido cumple 100 años, Partido que ha luchado durante su siglo de existencia por la paz, la igualdad, la solidaridad y sobre todo por avanzar hacia una sociedad sin capitalismo donde las y los trabajadores tengan el papel principal.
Por este ideario anti-capitalista y anti-imperialista habéis sufrido fuerte represión en diversos momentos de la historia reciente de Uruguay, convirtiéndoos en una fuerza política respetada y con fuerte peso en la política de vuestro y con gran implantación en el conjunto de la sociedad uruguaya.
Nos hemos encontrado en muchas ocasiones en diferentes foros con grandes coincidencias en nuestras posiciones y nos seguiremos encontrando en todos los espacios internacionalistas a nivel planetario y por todo esto, deseamos no sólo felicitaros por vuestro centenario, sino también expresar que nos gustaría aún trabajar más unidos que nunca, pues los enemigos en la Patria Grande y en la Europa de los pueblos son los mismos.

Dear comrades of the Communist Party of Uruguay,
From the Party of the European Left (EL), we send you warm and supportive greetings in these complex times that the world is going through.
We know that on 21 September 2020 your party will be 100 years old, a party that has fought during its century of existence for peace, equality, solidarity and above all to advance towards a society without capitalism where workers have the main role.
Because of this anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist ideology you have suffered strong repression at various times in Uruguay’s recent history, making you a respected political force with a strong influence in your own politics and with a strong presence in Uruguayan society as a whole.
We have met on many occasions in different forums with great agreement on our positions and we will continue to meet in all internationalist areas throughout the world. For all these reasons, we wish not only to congratulate you on your centenary, but also to say that we would like to work together more than ever, because the enemies in the Patria Grande and in the Europe of the peoples are the same.
Long live the Communist Party of Uruguay!
