Ante la posibilidad de que en las próximas horas/días, el CNE (las autoridades electorales del Ecuador) saquen una resolución para permitir o bloquear el binomio presidencial Arauz-Rabascall, el Presidente del Partido de la Izquierda europea Heinz Bierbaum declara que no existe ningún fundamento legal para descalificar esa propuesta para la Presidencia y Vicepresidencia de Ecuador.
Sería inaceptable y absolutamente antidemocrático, dice Bierbaum, que el gobierno de Moreno presione e intimide a los miembros del CNE para poder bloquear la candidatura de Arauz y Rabascall. El pueblo ecuatoriano tiene derecho a elegir a sus representantes libremente.

Given the possibility that in the next few hours / days, the CNE (the electoral authorities of Ecuador) will issue a resolution to allow or block the Arauz-Rabascall presidential binomial, the President of the European Left Heinz Bierbaum declares that there is no legal basis to disqualify this proposal for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of Ecuador.
It would be unacceptable and absolutely undemocratic, says Bierbaum, for the Moreno government to pressure and intimidate members of the CNE in order to block the candidacy of Arauz and Rabascall. The Ecuadorian people have the right to freely choose their representatives.
