Le groupe élargi en preparation de la Conference de la Mediterranee de la Gauche sur la situation au Sahara Occidental
Alors que le groupe de travail élargi des deux côtés de la Méditerranée se réunit nous souhaitons exprimer notre solidarité et notre soutien au peuple sahraoui, une fois de plus attaqué par le gouvernement marocain. À la suite de l’intervention des Forces armées royales marocaines (FAR) le 13 novembre dernier pour prendre le contrôle du poste frontière de Guerguerat, le Front Polisario et le peuple sahraoui ont déclaré la fin de la trêve et donc de la guerre.
Nous manifestons également notre étonnement et notre rejet total de la décision des États-Unis de reconnaître la souveraineté du Maroc sur le Sahara occidental, qui constitue une attaque flagrante contre le droit des peuples à l’autodétermination et à l’indépendance.
L’objectif est d’obtenir la reconnaissance par les Etats-Unis de la souveraineté marocaine sur le Sahara occidental en échange d’une reconnaissance d’Israël par le Royaume du Maroc.
L’objective des Etats-Unis est d’utiliser le droit du peuple sahraoui à l’autodétermination comme pièce d’échange pour imposer l’état sioniste d’Israel comme la force dominante dans la región arabe pour liquider la cause palestinienne, et les droits du peuple palestinien, en contre de la volonté du peuple marocain et les peuples arabes.
En outre, elle aura sans aucun doute un impact très négatif sur l’évolution de la solution politique au conflit du Sahara occidental, car elle encouragera davantage le gouvernement marocain à poursuivre sa politique d’obstruction et de manque de coopération avec l’ONU.
Nous notons avec surprise et indignation la coïncidence de cette décision avec la Journée internationale des droits de l’homme, le 10 décembre, et avec le prochain anniversaire de la résolution de l’Assemblée Générale des Nations Unies. Dans ce contexte, nous demandons aux Nations unies, à l’UE et à l’Union africaine de faire pression sur le gouvernement marocain pour qu’il mette fin à son occupation des territoires sahraouis.

STATEMENT OF THE EXTENDED GROUP IN PREPARATION OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CONFERENCE OF THE LEFT
Western Sahara: the struggle for peoples’ self-determination does not stop!
Having gathered the Extended Coordination Group on both sides of the Mediterranean, we want to express our solidarity and support for the Saharawi people once again attacked by the Government of Morocco. After the intervention of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces on November 13th to take control of the Guerguerat border crossing, the Polisario Front and the Saharawi people declared the end of the truce and therefore war.
Likewise, we show our total amazement at and rejection of the US decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara, which constitutes a flagrant attack on the right of peoples to self-determination and independence. The objective is to obtain American recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara in exchange for a recognition of Israel by the kingdom of Morocco.
The objective of the United States is to use the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination as a bargaining chip to impose the Zionist state of Israel as the dominant force in the Arab region to liquidate the Palestinian cause, and the rights of the Palestinian people, against the will of the Moroccan people and the Arab peoples.
Furthermore, it will undoubtedly have a very negative impact on the evolution of the political solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, because it will further encourage the Moroccan government to continue its policy of obstruction and lack of cooperation with the UN.
We note with surprise and indignation the coincidence of this decision with the International Human Rights Day, December 10th, and with the next anniversary of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on Western Sahara. In this framework, we demand that the United Nations, the EU and the African Union pressure the Moroccan government to put an end to its occupation of the Sahrawi territories.
