El partido de la izquierda Europea ha tomado conocimiento de que un grupo de eurodiputados ha incluido en el plenario del parlamento europeo del 08 de junio un punto sobre “Situación política y derechos humanos en Cuba” pretendiendo desgastar las relaciones entre la unión europea y Cuba.
Cuba es un país libre donde el pueblo decide. Por tanto este debate del parlamento viola la soberanía de este país.
La unión europea debe denunciar el bloqueo inhumano que sufre el pueblo cubano desde hace 62 años que se ha incrementado durante la pandemia hasta extremos que violan claramente los derechos humanos aumentando la crisis económica que ya se padecía.
En Europa se están produciendo situaciones graves con la crisis migratoria, con la pandemia que ha producido un aumento de la ciris económica y social que debería ser el centro del debate del parlamento europeo y dejar ingerir en asuntos de otros países de fuera de la unión.
El partido de la izquierda Europea, por estas razones, creemos que este punto del orden del día debería ser rechazado ya que en el fondo es una maniobra más de la derecha extrema en sus ataques a la República de Cuba, cuando esta nación ha sido ejemplo en ayuda médica y sanitaria desde el comienzo de la pandemia.

The European Left Party has become aware that a group of MEPs has included in the June 8 agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament an item on the “Political situation and human rights in Cuba”, attempting to undermine relations between the European Union and Cuba.
Cuba is a free country where the people decide. Therefore, such a debate made by the EU Parliament violates the sovereignty of this country.
The European Union must condemn the inhuman blockade that the Cuban people have been suffering for 62 years, which has been further strengthened during the pandemic to such an extent that it clearly violates human rights, increasing the economic crisis that was already underway.
In Europe we are witnessing some serious issues related to the migratory crisis and the pandemic, which has triggered an economic and social crisis that should be at the centre of the debate of the European Parliament, who should not interfere in the affairs of other countries outside the Union.
For these reasons, the European Left Party believes that this item on the agenda should be opposed since it is just another maneuver of the extreme right against the Republic of Cuba, a country that display its medical solidarity since the beginning of the pandemic.
