Home / The Party of the European Left approves a roadmap of common actions with the Foro de São Paulo in Caracas
The Party of the European Left (EL) has attended the XXV edition of the Foro de São Paulo (FSP), celebrated in Caracas between the 25 and 28 July. In this occasion, the collaboration of more than 12 years between the EL and the FSP has been reaffirmed. The FSP is an event that gathers the progressive parties and movements of the whole Latin America.
In the afternoon of the 25th, a meeting was held between the delegations of the EL and FSP, with the approval of a common declaration where an in-depth analysis of the current political situation in Latin America and Europe has been made.
Following a diagnosis of the most important common problems and challenges, the declaration emphasizes the need of doubling the battle against the neoliberal offensive headed by the USA, with the complicity of local oligarchies, attacking the progressive forces of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Taking advantage of the fact that the Foro has been celebrated in Venezuela, the declaration also includes a bold condemnation of the economic sanctions and political destabilization that the USA and EU lead against the legitimate Venezuelan government.
The EL and the FSP express their confidence in the results of the process of dialogue started between the government of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the representatives of the opposition.
The declaration ends with a common roadmap of actions to be implemented until the celebration of the next Foro in 2020. It stresses the importance of a common campaign in defense of peace and solidarity among people that, starting from the Proclaim of Latin America and Caribbean as Peace zone, concluding with an anti-imperialism global day in April of the next year.
EL and FSP agreed on a new meeting of the IV Seminar of Shared Vision, which is going to take place next December in Spain, opportunity to keep on strengthening the collaboration between these political spaces.

El Partido de la Izquierda Europea aprueba
una agenda de trabajo conjunta con el Foro de Sao Paulo en Caracas
El Partido de la Izquierda Europea (PIE) participó en la XXV edición del Foro de Sao Paulo (FSP), celebrado en Caracas entre los días 25 y 28 de julio. Se reedita así una colaboración de más de 12 años entre el PIE y el FSP, evento que congrega a los principales partidos y movimientos progresistas de toda América Latina.
Durante la tarde del jueves 25 de julio se celebró una reunión entre las delegaciones del FSP y del PIE cuyo resultado fue la aprobación de una declaración conjunta en la que se analizó en profundidad la coyuntura política latinoamericana y europea. Tras un diagnóstico de los principales problemas y retos, la declaración enfatiza la necesidad de redoblar la batalla contra la restauración neoliberal comandada por EEUU, con la complicidad de las oligarquías locales, que hostigan a las fuerzas progresistas de América Latina y el Caribe.
Aprovechando que esta edición del Foro se celebraba en Venezuela, la declaración también incluye una rotunda condena a las sanciones económicas y estrategias de desestabilización política que EEUU y la Unión Europea lideran contra el legítimo gobierno venezolano. El PIE y el FSP expresaron también su confianza en los resultados del proceso de diálogo iniciado entre el Gobierno de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y los representantes de la oposición.
Asimismo, la declaración conjunta concluyó con una agenda común de trabajo a desarrollar hasta la celebración del próximo foro en 2020. Destaca el impulso de una campaña común en defensa de la paz y la solidaridad entre los pueblos que, partiendo de la Proclama de América Latina y el Caribe como zona de Paz, concluya en una jornada global antiimperialista en el mes de abril del próximo año.
FSP y PIE se citaron a un nuevo encuentro en el marco del IV Seminario de Visiones Compartidas que tendrá lugar en España el próximo mes de diciembre, oportunidad para seguir fortaleciendo la colaboración entre ambos espacios políticos.
