We as Party of the European Left are condemning this act and ask the international community to oppose his extradition to the US.

The European Left warns once again against the anti-democratic course of the Tanzanian government. Following comment refers to the amendment of the Political Parties Act in Tanzania.

Faced with this unprecedented fact in the history of democracy, the EL wants to show its absolute rejection and we ask the parties that compose it and the national and European institutions to join the democratic Ecuadorian forces in the demand for fair elections that follow the usual international rules of any truly free and transparent election.

Following on from his Sorbonne Speech of 2017, French President Emmanuel Macron once again tries to portray himself as a visionary for Europe and calls for a new beginning and reforms for Europe in a declaration. He speaks clearly and rightly against the nationalists, but his demands lead to more foreclosure, militarization and surveillance. His political demands are everything else than progressive. As a visionary, he sees in the establishment of a particular protected external border a “freedom in security”.
